Current Program

Only days left until the
2018 Winter Film Festival

January 19, 20 and 21, 2018

When the film  (Margureite) arrived at Rainbow, it was tested to make sure it was OK.  Theatre manager Avril Lowes called NFS and asked if it would be OK - the film is in French but has no English sub-titles!  This is of course, NOT OK so a frantic call was made to TIFF and to the Film Distributor for a film suitable for audiences in Cobourg.  A replacement was not received in time so the screening had to be cancelled.

Patrons were advised in an email at around noon and offered refunds or passes to a future movie.

This would have been our 200th film shown and was the first one with a serious problem.  Our thanks to Rainbow's staff for their assistance and for the weekend help from TIFF and the Distributor.  Unfortunately they were not able to resolve the problem.

We have booked the following dates and Films for the 2017 Spring Series. Tickets are not yet available.

Sunday February 19 - Moonlight
Sunday March 5 - Lion
Sunday March 19 - Toni Erdmann
Sunday April 9 - Paterson
Sunday April 30 - Maudie (awaiting confirmation)
Sunday May 7 - Spirit Unforgettable

Now you don’t have to rush elsewhere to see these over the Holiday season.

More information will be provided on this page as it comes available.

The twelfth annual Film Festival will be on the weekend of  January 20 to 22 and now the films have been announced.  Weekend Package tickets will go on sales soon at the usual outlets - see the Ticket page for full details.  As well as the 5 films, there will be the always popular reception at Victoria Hall on the Saturday night.
