Northumberland Film Sundays
Mission Statement
We are a group of film lovers dedicated to offering access to a diverse range of films not otherwise available at local cinemas.
We choose our films from the current TIFF FILM CIRCUIT Release Schedule which is comprised of a selected list of films with Canadian distributors and a limited theatrical release pattern.
As part of the Northumberland arts community, NFS aims to present films of high quality which serve to entertain, inform and offer perspectives from the world of contemporary Canadian and International cinema, with a focus on stories and story-telling.
We are a not-for-profit group. We will periodically make contributions to Northumberland County organizations when a cash surplus permits.
Films are screened at Rainbow Cinemas at Northumberland Mall in Cobourg on Sunday afternoons.

We have now settled on our fourth selection, and an email will go to our mailing list.
Winter Series Dates Announced
We have started the process of programming for our winter series starting in January 2026. The first step is to select dates that suit the Rainbow Cinema and five dates have now been decided. Here they are.
- Sunday January 11, 2026
- Sunday January 25, 2026
- Sunday February 8, 2026
- Sunday February 22, 2026
- Sunday March 8, 2026
The next step is to choose films that we think our audience will like and that work for TIFF and distributors. Meanwhile save the dates!
